Meet your instructor

Owner Andy Brown first set foot in a climbing gym in Atlanta, GA in 2011 and has been hooked on climbing ever since. Equally happy on long moderate routes in Yosemite as he is on challenging single pitch climbs, Andy loves the multi-dimensionality of climbing — moving quickly over easy rock can be just as rewarding as testing one’s physical and mental toughness on a hard climb.

Favorite climb

That’s like trying to choose a favorite child (I imagine), but Serenity Crack/Sons of Yesterday. Every pitch is amazing.

Favorite climbing snack

Spam musubi! Filling, tasty, and plenty of carbs and protein. Best of all it’s dense enough to resist getting crushed in your pack.

Favorite climbing style

I’ve always been drawn to slabs, since they don’t require much power. Crack climbing (hands and fingers in particular) is also pretty great. When you combine slab and cracks you get Serenity Crack which is probably why it’s my favorite climb.

Andy is an AMGA Single Pitch Instructor, and a certified Wilderness First Responder and Wilderness CPR provider.
